Space travel is lonely and sometimes it is important to be lonely

March 5th by the Sea of Kumano once more with a full moon on the rise. Which reminds me of a song I wrote in 2005

"You're a full moon on the rise

A soft blanket of light, falling upon my eyes

To me, you are gravity, a force I cannot fight"

March 9: I am so sorry and sad to admit that I missed the chance to celebrate Women on this historical date, International Womens Day 8/3/2015. I wasn't aware it was happening and that sometimes is the case here in Japan with its "Sakoku" ripple effect (a period of Isolationism from 1633-1853). It is uplifting to see there is so much love and support for Women around the World and this kind of forward movement (force) only attracts, it's never repulsive.

I have loved tracking this: from the lightbulb on the Sydney Harbour Bridge on New Years Eve to brunch at "Bread in Common" in Fremantle, WA to watching John Legend and Common perform "Glory" at the 2015 Oscars and then crossing this little bridge in Kumano twice a day from March 5th-8th.

I found myself reflecting too... in love EVENTUALLY, EVERYTHING CONNECTS.

And... a tribute to Oprah's visit to Sydney in Dec 2010

AN EXAMPLE OF NOT SEEING SOMETHING THAT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU

I FALL ASLEEP AND WAKE UP UNDER THIS LIGHT IN MY JAPANESE APARTMENT FOR HALF THE YEAR

I ONLY 'NOTICED' IT THE OTHER DAY AND JUST IN TIME FOR...

3/14/15

On March 13th, at the conclusion of a series of 5 practice games near Kyoto, I asked Yukiko Ueno to spend time with our youngest pitcher. Ueno-san replied jokingly "Roche, 1 advice, 1 coin please!" On March 14th we travelled to Toyota Softball ground for more practice games. I was cleaning the softball diamond when I found a very old 50 yen coin in the dirt. It was Pi Day so I was buzzing until I remembered Yukiko's birthday is the 22/7. If calculated equals 3.14.

The day was much more than a buzz.
